EDO NSW News and Events

1. Happy New Year from EDO NSW
EDO NSW wishes you a safe, successful and happy 2014, and thanks you for your support over 2013.
2. EDO NSW Facing Renewed Attacks
Just before Christmas – without warning – the Federal Government told EDO NSW and other EDOs across the country that it is breaking its four-year commitment to fund EDOs – effective immediately!

This unexpected loss of $150,000 this financial year and $400,000 per annum in the coming financial years is extremely disappointing. Taking away such major funding severely limits our ability to help you and your community to address your local environmental issues. We know, because you've told us before, that without our expertise and guidance, the environment and effectiveness of our environmental laws will be severely weakened and grassroots communities will struggle to take on government and industry on their own.

We’re determined to find a way to remain a strong voice for local communities and the environment. But we need to your support right now. Please give generously so EDO NSW can continue to help your community stand up for your local environment.

You can also send a strong message to help hold our Federal Government accountable for their decision by signing our petition. Visit our website today to make your voice heard.

As always, we thank you for your support.
3. Position at EDO NSW: Fundraising Officer
We have established a dedicated position of Fundraiser to work with our fundraising team to help us achieve a diverse and secure funding base. A key role will be to assist the Executive Director, fundraising consultant and the Board to run a Major Gifts Program, generating income from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies. The position will also be responsible for overseeing the development of complimentary fundraising strategies including regular giving and direct mail appeals.
Applications close Monday 3 February 2014 at 5pm. Visit our website for more information and to apply.
