Australia's own local 'Grand Canyon' is now
officially in the trust of Lithgow City Council.

The dramatic buttes and exposed sandstone escarpments of the Capertee Valley - the second-largest enclosed canyon in the world, and just three hours west of Sydney - have inspired generations of writers, artists and photographers."

With so much tourism beauty, finally after many, many years of public wrangling between the NSW State Government and Lithgow City Council over it's ownership, the Pearson's Lookout Reserve was last week officially transferred into the trust of the Lithgow City Council.

Page 16 from this Government Gazette last week confirms the Minister for Natural Resources, Land and Water has finally approved the Reservation of Crown Land and the Appointment of the Lithgow City Council to Manage the Reserve Trust of Pearson's Lookout at Capertee.

Here is a recent story on Pearson's Lookout from the Capertee Valley Alliance Blog:  Pearson's Lookout in the firing line again.
