Special Capertee Valley Community Information Session 13th July 2014.

Special Community Information Session Sunday 13 July 2014.
Communities across NSW and Australia including the Capertee Valley are under siege from Coal and Gas.
More than 75  people attended the Community Information Session, both residents and visitors from Capertee Valley Surrounds.  Thank you to all the chefs who provide the morning tea and lunch.
Our IT person Ian Watt who set up the equipment which went without a hitch.

Presenter: Nell Schofield, is the Sydney Campaign Coordinator with Lock The Gate, a national alliance that stands beside Australian communities in their fight against coal and gas.

Presenter: EDO  - Belinda Rayment holds a LLB (HONS) from University of New England and a Masters in International Environmental Law. Belinda previously worked in a private practice specialising in local government and planning law as Associate to Justice Talbot Legal Centre.
Belinda provides clients with advice on a wide range of environmental legal issues including planning, pollution, Administrative Law, Mining and Coal Seam Gas.

Presenter:Peter Green Observations of someone who has been in both camps and fears the future of our environment/biosphere and hence for the sort of life we are condemning today's children and future generations (not to mention the myriad of other species of flora & fauna) .Peter does the BLU radio show (Shirley 'Baglady' Lewis global TV Show Online). He belongs to various groups, Blue MTS Conservation Society, Sustainable Population Australia, Climate Action Blue Mtns * Stop CSG Blue Mts. Peter has experience in exploration mining but has a passion for conservation.
He believes that we must move to a post-carbon economy now, hence against coal & CSG. Peter is not against mining per se: it underpins our industrial society and as yet there is absolutely no plan B for a current society once the mines are depleted.

Audience: Capertee Valley residents listening intently.

Presenter: Chris Pavich, is a geologist, explaining the maps in regard to the Geology and Geomorphology of the Capertee Valley.
Chris is  retired from National Parks.

Presenter: Ian Coleman SC Areas of Practice. Equity, Commercial, Insolvency, Agriculture, Environment and Mining Law, Family Law-appellate and financial, Sporting disciplinary tribunals Family, rural & commercial mediation.

Special thanks to the community members who hand delivered the flyers to residents at Capertee and the localities Glen Davis, Glen Alice, Bogee and Mt Marsden, Alex, Mary, Lisa, Carol, Neil & Glenda, Bruce, Donna. Hope  we didn't miss anyone.
